The most recent pitch came Wednesday from a California company that
has offered up its CEO “to talk with you about existing market conditions that
will make commercial airline travel worse for business travelers in 2008.”
As we all know, airline delays have increased
tremendously. Last year was the fifth straight year that delays increased over
the previous year.
What that’s meant for reporters is that we
keep getting pitches from people who represent private jet companies,http://cheap-Titans-jerseys.weebly.com.
The connection? They can take us to lesser used airports, can bypass the long
lines at the TSA checkpoints or otherwise speed up our trips, cheap

Then, less than two hours later, the exact
same pitch came from a different “Assistant Account Executive” at the same PR
firm.
But I digress.
I’m sure I’ve misplaced other pitches that
have come in over the electronic transom in the past year. But you get the idea
— and the pitches are usually followed up by eager phone calls.
On Feb. 14, a PR firm pitched a story about a New York company that
arranges travel through a combination of private jets and commercial flights,
and all “without the hassles of flight cancellations, inconvenient layovers or
long delays.”
But those two “,Cheap

a “Junior Account Executive” from the same PR firm who had proposed the same
story on Aug. 29. She offered the company’s president and chief operating
officer, not the CEO, to talk “about the trends, regulations, challenges and
opportunities within the exploding charter jet industry.”
On Sept. 20, 2007, a PR firm pitched a story
about a New York
air charter broker.
I was beginning to think that there was a free
trip to Aruba riding on the PR people’s
ability to place a story in the Dallas Morning News.
Part of the glamorous life of a reporter is
dealing with public-relations types who stay busy trying to find ways to interest
me in their company. Take the whole subject of private jets.
On Oct. 3, 2007, a PR firm pitched a story
about a private jet charter broker. “With congestion wreaking havoc on
commercial aviation, small and mid-sized companies, specifically those dependent
on the hub and spoke system, have been stranded and are left scrambling for an
alternative transportation,” I was told.
An “Assistant Account Executive” at a PR firm
contacted me on Oct. 10 to pitch her client,http://cheap-mariners-jerseys.weebly.com/.
She noted that “travelers’,Cheap Lions Jerseys FNXh; disdain for commercial
airlines grows” and said her client — the CEO of a private jet company — could
talk “about how his company is helping to increase access to private aviation
through its unique business model.”
On Sept. 25, 2007, a PR firm pitched a story
about a Tennessee
company offering Internet booking for private jets, “helping charter customers
escape the time-consuming hassles of current booking systems.”
